My quote for making a book similar to what is currently on the market was $150 and 7-10 days.

I noticed that puzzles inside most of these books are not strongly 6 or 7 related, meaning wordsearches are not shaped as 6 or 7, mazes are not shaped as 6 or 7, sudoku is 9×9 when it could be 6×6 to match the theme, and also there are plenty of puzzles where you can make 6 and/or 7 key elements.

If you just scroll and read reviews, and see the profiles of reviewers and what other books they reviewed, or toggle between verified purchases (27 vrs total number of reviews 117) it’s clear what is being done.

• Some publishers are heavily violating KDP guidelines by using restricted words

Examples include stacking terms like Birthday, Easter, Christmas, Stocking Stuffer, and Gift in titles and subtitles. That is multiple guideline violations in a single listing. If you contact KDP customer support about this, they will always respond that they can only comment on your own books and that you should publish and let the review team decide. However, because these listings clearly violate the rules, copying this behavior puts your account at risk of termination. Arguing “everyone else is doing it” will not protect you.

The difference is simple: target audience.

Bold and Easy Crime coloring books exploded and are still working because they are aimed at adults who have disposable income and intentionally want to color. The 6-7 trend is a short-lived meme that will likely fade within weeks. The buyers are parents who are confused, overwhelmed, and making impulse purchases based on what appears popular in the moment.

I could be wrong, but I do not see 6-7 still being relevant in March 2026.

The smartest move here is not to chase this exact trend, but to learn from it. The real opportunity is being ready for the next meme. When a new trend appears, act quickly. Create a book or several books while the interest is still fresh. Timing matters more than perfection.

That is the real lesson here.
